Sock It!Privacy Policy
The short version
Sock It! does not collect, store, share or sell any personal data. It has no accounts, no adverts, no analytics and no tracking, and it does not connect to the internet except when you choose to buy or restore the in-app purchase through Apple.
Who this policy covers
This policy covers the Sock It! app for iPhone (“the app”) and this website. The app is made by Sahil Pabby, an independent developer (“I”, “me”). If you have a question about privacy, email simplehelpdesk321@gmail.com.
Information the app collects
None. I do not receive any information about you, your device or how you play.
The app contains no third-party code for analytics, advertising, crash reporting or social features. It does not use the device advertising identifier, and it does not ask for access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, health data or notifications.
What stays on your device
To remember your choices between sessions, the app saves a few settings in your iPhone’s local storage:
- whether sounds are on or off
- whether haptics are on or off
- the pile size you last chose
- whether you have already seen the first-time walkthrough
These settings are never sent to me or to anyone else. They are removed when you delete the app. Depending on your iCloud settings, Apple may include them in your device backups, which is handled under Apple’s privacy policy.
In-app purchases
The optional purchase, The Full Drawer, is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. I never see your name, Apple ID, email address or payment details. Apple gives developers aggregated, anonymised sales reports only. Apple’s handling of your purchase is described in the Apple Privacy Policy.
Crash reports and App Store analytics
If you have turned on Share with App Developers in your iPhone’s Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may share crash logs and anonymised usage statistics with me. These do not identify you, and I use them only to fix bugs. You can turn this off at any time in the same place.
Children
Sock It! is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children. The in-app purchase goes through Apple, so Family Sharing and Ask to Buy work as usual.
Your rights
Data protection laws such as the UK and EU GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act give you the right to access, correct or delete personal data a company holds about you. I hold none, so there is nothing to access or delete, but you are welcome to email me with any question.
This website
This website is hosted by GitHub Pages. It uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking scripts. GitHub may log visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes, as described in the GitHub Privacy Statement. I do not have access to those logs.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change. If a future version were to collect any data, it would say so here and in the App Store listing first.
